Reiki(靈氣) is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy. This energy is the natural, vital healing force found in all life. Jikiden Reiki stands for Usui Reiki teachings from an original authentic Japanese lineage. This lineage goes from Mikao Usui sensei to Dr. Chujiro Hayashi to Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi to her son Tadao Yamaguchi, and then to me. Jikiden Reiki allows you to experience a Japanese form of Usui Reiki in its original beauty and simplicity.

All seminars follow exactly the same format so that Jikiden Reiki is always passed on without alteration. Jikiden Reiki Shoden and Okuden seminars give you all you need to know in order to treat yourself and others with Jikiden Reiki. Universal life energy is a only and a very minimal description of Reiki's extraordinary benefit and effectiveness. Jikiden Reiki is a hands on and distant healing art and practice that attune and develop natural latent human healing energy and balances body, mind, heart and spirit in a structured way through light, gentle, non-intrusive touch and compassionate intention and regard.

心身改善臼井靈氣療法 (Shin-shin-kaizen Usui Reiki Rhoho) means Usui Reiki Therapy for the improvement of Body and Mind.
Reiki is an ancient energy healing art origin of Japan, and this is the story of how it began!
Enlightenment of Usui Sensei : ”Anjin Ryumei”「安心立命」
Mikao Usui sensei, the originator of Usui Reiki Ryoho, as an adult he worked in various professions as a civil servant, an office worker, a journalist, a secretary to a politician and even a religious missionary and a teacher for rehabilitants in a prison.
Through these work experiences, and from searching for a purpose of life, Usui sensei reached the conclusion that
“The ultimate purpose of life is to attain An-Jin-Ryu-Mei ", which means
" Enlightenment"
This made him decide to study Zen Buddhism, and after three years training in a temple in Kyoto, he was not getting any closer to achieving enlightenment. He was desperate and finally asked his Zen master for advice on how to train himself to attain An-Jin-Ryu-Mei.
His Zen master replied immediately, saying,” Well, maybe you should experience death.”
He was 57. In March 1922 he gave up on life, hid himself in a mountain retreat on Mt Kurama, a mountain just outside Kyoto, and started fasting. This fasting was not for training, it was preparation for death.
After doing this for twenty some days, it was sometime close to midnight Usui sensei suddenly felt an extremely powerful shock in the centre of his brain, and he became unconscious. Several hours later when he recovered consciousness, had an amazing feeling never ever felt before, then Usui sensei knew he had achieved Enlightenment. “The Universe is me- I am the Universe.” He had finally achieved enlightenment that he was searching for so long.
Having attained enlightenment, Usui sensei ran joyously down the mountain. On the way, he tripped over a rock and ripped off his toe nail. He immediately put his hands on it and to his surprise, the pain disappeared, the bleeding stopped and it was healed. He was so amazed that on his return home, he started to heal his family with the healing ability he had found in the mountain. Finding it produced great results, Usui sensei felt that he wanted to help others by using this amazing ability and after some research, he was able to systematize this as “Shin-Shin-Kaizen-Usui-Reiki-Ryoho「心身改善臼井靈氣療法 」”, or “ Usui Reiki Therapy for the Improvement of Body and Mind.”
