Reiki is an energy healing practice which originated in Japan. Practitioners use universal life-force energy and pass it on to re-awaken the natural healing process in others by focusing this energy on the areas that it is most needed.
The founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui, discovered Reiki whilst fasting on Mt Kurama in Kyoto, Japan.
He established the first Reiki organization – The Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai – which still exists today but sadly does not promote the teaching and circulation of Reiki or provide treatments. Its existence is not too well known. Usui only created 20 disciples in his lifetime. Some belonged to the Gakkai, some branched out and created their own brand of healing but Dr Chujiro Hayashi, with Usui’s blessing, continued to teach Reiki in Japan in its authentic form.
Jikiden Reiki stands for Reiki teachings from an original authentic Japanese lineage. Jikiden Reiki allows you to experience a Japanese form of Reiki in its original beauty, effectiveness and simplicity.
All seminars follow exactly the same format so that Jikiden Reiki is always passed on in its original, simple form. Jikiden Reiki Shoden and Okuden seminars give you all you need to know in order to treat yourself and others with Jikiden Reiki.
Jikiden Reiki treatments last anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes to 2 hours and are generally concentrated on the head, upper back, soles of the feet, kidneys and areas that are of particular concern to the client. After a short consultation the client lies fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table in a treatment room with soft lighting and relaxing music playing. Treatment usually starts with a gentle touch to the head, feet, or abdomen. Practitioners use the concept of Byosen, following the sensations in their hands that tell them which areas of the body need Reiki most. For some people 1- 3 treatments are enough to help them recover from a problem and for others a longer course of treatments is necessary. While definite benefit can be gained from a single treatment, to get the best results from Reiki, regular sessions are important. Your body uses the extra energy to help repair its self quicker than it could otherwise.

I was born & raised in Japan, moved to Australia & settled in Perth Western Australia where I was introduced to Western Reiki, such was my interest in Reiki I went back to Kyoto,Japan to study Traditional Japanese Reiki (Jikiden). Now residing back in Perth ,my burning ambition is to help treat & train other people to heal using
Hello allow me to introduce myself. I was born and grew up in Nagano prefecture central Japan where the winter Olympics, were held some years ago. I arrived in Australia in my twenties and have lived & worked at various jobs in Sydney and Perth gaining experiences in my life.
Having studied and practiced Chinese energy works like Qigong, Tai-chi & some Kungfu daily, I decided to enrolled myself into the Traditional Taoist Internal Martial Art School in Wudang, Hubei, China for a whole month of October in 2012. There I gained even more knowledge of Qigong and Tai-chi energy works.
One day after I came back to Perth, I read about Usui sensei’s enlightenment experience on Mt Kurama in Kyoto Japan, which inspired me to look for a Reiki course in Perth. Fortunately, I found Reiki WA, and booked myself into a Roger Weston’s seminar in 2014. This was when I first received initiation to Reiki. I also looked for traditional Japanese Reiki courses in Japan, which I found and attended a Jikiden Reiki seminar in Kyoto 2015. This was a 3 day seminar in Japanese by Mr Yamaguchi, and the second time I attended 4 day seminar in English in 2016, when Jikiden Reiki world congress was held. This was a 4 day seminar in English because they used an interpreter. At the Jikiden Reiki World Congress, there were people from European countries, USA, South America, Canada, South Africa, but noticeably there wasn’t anybody from Australia except myself. Since the first time I attended a Jikiden Reiki seminar, I really wanted to bring this traditional Japanese Reiki to Perth, and share this wonderful knowledge with everyone here. So I learned Shoden & Okuden, then essentially Shinpiden in Nov 2017, so now I’m qualified to teach Shoden. This is my 6th year in Reiki practice.
As we are told Mr Usui searched desperately for a state of bliss (An jin ryu mei 安心立命). He was ready to die in order to achieve enlightenment and through his experiences “Reiki” was born. Traditional Japanese Reiki was passed on directly from Usui sensei to Hayashi sensei, who taught both Hawayo Takata and Chiyoko sensei when she was 17years old in 1938 and since then practiced continuously for 65 years. She passed it onto her son Tadao Yamaguchi, who speaks in the spirit of Chiyoko sensei, and he taught me at Jikiden Reiki headquarters in Kyoto 2015.
I’m on my 6th year of Reiki practice, and I've also studied & practiced energy works through Chinese budo/martial arts eg; Qigong, Taichi & Kungfu for many years prior to that.
It could be said Reiki is about harnessing the energy from the universe.
What is very important is that the original teachings of Hayashi sensei be passed on, not just in terms of technique but also the fundamental attitudes and intentions he maintained.
' To achieve optimal wellness, one must apply it towards every possible endeavor and purpose.'
