Hello allow me to introduce myself. I was born and grew up in Nagano prefecture central Japan where the winter Olympics, were held in 1998. I arrived in Australia in my twenties and have lived & worked at various jobs in Sydney and Perth gaining experiences in my life.
Having studied and practiced Chinese energy works like Qigong, Tai-chi & some Kungfu daily for the last 30 years, I decided to enroll myself into the Traditional Taoist Internal Martial Art School in Wudang, Hubei Province, China for a whole month of October in 2012. There I gained even more knowledge of Qigong and Tai-chi energy works.
One day after I came back to Perth, I read about Usui sensei’s enlightenment experience on Mt Kurama in Kyoto Japan, which inspired me to look for a Reiki course in Perth. Fortunately, I found Reiki Association WA, and I was initiated into Reiki 1 in August 2014, then Reiki 2 in March 2015. I also looked for traditional Japanese Reiki courses in Japan, which I found and attended a Jikiden Reiki seminar in Kyoto in May 2015. This was a 3 day seminar in Japanese by Mr Yamaguchi, and the second time I attended 4 day seminar in English in 2016, when I attended Jikiden Reiki World Congress. This was a 4 day seminar in English because they used an interpreter. At the Jikiden Reiki World Congress, there were people from European countries, USA, South America, Canada, South Africa, but noticeably there wasn’t anybody from Australia except myself. Since the first time I attended the Jikiden Reiki seminar, I really wanted to bring this traditional Japanese Reiki to Perth, and share this wonderful knowledge with everyone here. So I learned Shoden(Reiki 1) & Okuden(Reiki 2), then essentially Shihankaku(師範格) qualification in Oct 2017. In November 2019 I obtained Shihan(師範) qualification. I’m now a qualified & ‘Authorised’ Jikiden Reiki teacher ‘Certified’ to teach both Shoden(Reiki 1) & Okuden(Reiki 2). This is my 11th year in Reiki practice.
As we are told Mr Usui searched desperately for a state of bliss (An jin ryu mei 安心立命). He was ready to die in order to achieve enlightenment and through his experiences “Reiki” was born. Traditional Japanese Reiki was passed on directly from Usui sensei to Hayashi sensei, who taught both Hawayo Takata from Hawaii and Chiyoko Yamaguchi when she was only 17years old in 1938 and since practiced continuously for 65 years. She passed it onto her son Tadao Yamaguchi, who speaks in the spirit of Chiyoko sensei, and he taught me at Jikiden Reiki headquarters in Kyoto 2015.
I’m in my 10th year of Reiki practice, and I've also studied & practiced energy works intensively through Chinese martial arts eg; Qigong, Taichi & Kungfu for the last 30years prior to that.
It could be said Reiki is about harnessing the energy from the universe.
What is very important is that the original teachings of Usui sensei and Hayashi sensei be passed on, not just in terms of technique but also the fundamental attitudes and intentions he maintained.
' To achieve optimal wellness, one must apply it towards every possible endeavor and purpose'
quote from Hayashi sensei
